China’s Tungsten Price Keeps Increasing for Weeks
Recently, China Tungsten Industry Association (CTIA) has increased the tungsten concentrate leading price. This is the first time to rise the price since the September 2009. CTIA is located in Ganzhou, Jiangxi province, the biggest production base for tungsten industry in China.
The standard tungsten price CTIA published in January is RMB71, 000/ton, increased by 2.9% comparing with RMB69, 000/ton in December last year.
The industrial data indicated that the production volume of tungsten concentrate is 38,008 tons from January to November in 2009, increasing by 3.06% comparing with the same period in 2008, accounting for 41.8% of China’s total production volume at the same time.
CTIA’s leading price is considered to be the guideline for China’s tungsten market which plays the leading role in World’s tungsten industry.
This time, China’s tungsten price has been increasing for weeks. Many enterprises tightened the production because of the shrinking tungsten ore exploitation, some even suspended to sale.
The tungsten concentrate(65%)price per ton has increased from RMB70,000~71,000 to RMB71,000~72,000. Also, the scheelite ore(65%)price has increased by RMB1,000/ton, reaching RMB 70,000~72,000/ton.
