Most resources are found in the Spor Mountain and Gold Hill areas in Utah, and the Seaward Peninsula region in Alaska State, in the US. Beryllium metal is primarily used in aerospace and defense areas. Properties such as stiffness, lightweight and dimensional stability within a defined temperature make it useful in satellite and space vehicle structures, inertial guidance systems, military aircraft brakes, and space optical systems components. The metal is also used as a triggering tool in nuclear warheads.
